Here’s another one for your rapidly expanding “Everything Old Is New Again” file.
On October 31, Taco Bell is bringing back five “blast from the past” menu items that will allow “generations of fans” to “relive the first 50 years of Taco Bell,” it has announced.
Dubbed the “Decades Menu” the limited-edition items will offer the Taco Bell faithful, along with anyone else hungry for throwback fare, a chance to revisit the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and ’00s. The chain is offering one item for each of the first five decades following its founding in 1962, and, in another throwback move, each nostalgic item is priced at less than $3. Yeah, bargain alert.

The ’60s Tostada provides a chance to revisit one of the very first menu items (there were only six!) offered by Taco Bell at its first location, in Southern California. Featuring a crisp corn tostada shell, refried beans, red sauce, lettuce and shredded cheese, it will be available at participating locations nationwide for $2.19.
The ’70s Green Sauce Burrito, boasting refried beans, onions, shredded cheddar cheese and a green sauce comprised of green chili, tomatillos, jalapeños and spices, will be available for $2.49. Taco Bell calls it one of its “most-hacked” burritos and “an item as edgy” as the decade that inspired it.

For a throwback to the Brat Pack era, Taco Bell is bringing back the frequently requested ’80s Meximelt. It’s made with fresh pico de gallo, a melted three-cheese blend (mozzarella, cheddar and monterey jack) and seasoned beef, all encased in a tortilla, and will be priced at $2.99.
Dubbed “ultimate ’90s kid,” the ’90s Gordita Supreme will re-debut featuring warm flatbread, seasoned beef, reduced-fat sour cream, lettuce and that three-cheese blend (mozzarella, cheddar and monterey jack), topped with diced tomatoes. It’s priced at $2.99.
And Taco Bell’s fifth and final Decades Menu throwback item, representing the first decade of a new century, is inarguably the sweetest. ’00s Caramel Apple Empanada, which its fans have often requested be brought back since it left the menu board in 2019, features a “golden-brown, crispy exterior filled with apple pieces and a flavorful creamy caramel filling,” as the brand describes it. Making its return for a limited time starting three weeks later than the other items, on November 21, it will be available for $2.99.

Along with the new-old menu items, Taco Bell is also launching retro-inspired merch, including limited-edition Decades hoodies and stainless-steel Decades cups; a weekly quiz to win said merchandise; and, while supplies last, plastic limited-edition Decades cups when you purchase a medium-size beverage.
In addition, the chain is introducing, for a limited time, a new $7 Luxe Cravings Box, which includes the ’90s Beef Gordita Supreme, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Double Stacked Taco, chips and nacho cheese sauce and a medium drink. It’s also offering special deals and drops through the Taco Bell app and via Uber Eats.

“Everyone remembers the moment they fell in love with Taco Bell and that one special menu item that brings you right back,” Taco Bell Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery said in a press statement. “The Decades Menu and the merch we’re creating are an ode to our rich history and a love letter to our fans, whether they’ve been rolling through our drive-thru for decades or are just about to discover their first Caramel Apple Empanada.”
Sweet. Who could ask for anything mas?
