This air-fryer fried Oreos recipe brings everyone’s favorite carnival, fair or rodeo treat right into your kitchen in 15 minutes flat. Food Network Kitchen created an easy batter out of pantry items. All you have to do is coat the cookies, pop them into the air fryer and enjoy!
Line the basket with parchment paper and coat with spray. Air-fried Oreo batter is very wet, so lining and greasing the basket prevents the cookies from sticking to the sides or damaging your air fryer.
Use store-bought pancake mix. The batter only uses a cup of baking mix, so our recipe developers recommend using a store-bought pancake mix like Bisquick to save time and give the air-fried Oreos sweet, nostalgic flavors.
Whole milk provides the best flavor. While you can use low-fat milk, our recipe developers prefer the rich flavor and creamy texture of whole milk. They don’t recommend using skim milk, which thins the batter.
Keep adding pancake mix until the consistency is very thick. Your batter should be thick enough to hold its shape without dripping if you dunk a cookie (or spoon) into it and hold it upright. If it seems too thin after you whisk in the pancake mix and sugar, add more pancake mix, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the consistency is right. This creates an even, perfectly fluffy coating for your Oreos.
Be strategic when placing the cookies in the air fryer. Put one dipped Oreo in each of the four corners of your air fryer basket to keep the parchment paper in place while they cook.
Customize your air-fried Oreos. You can use this recipe using traditional, golden, double-stuffed or any other type of Oreos that you like. The Food Network Kitchen team likes the look of confectioners' sugar showered on top of each cookie, but you could dust them with cocoa powder instead.
You can multiply the recipe. You can easily double or even triple this recipe to feed a crowd — just keep in mind that you need to place the Oreos in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Depending on the size of your appliance, a double or triple batch could require considerably more time.
Air fryer fried Oreos are best eaten immediately after frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. To reheat them, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F, mist it with nonstick cooking spray and air fry the Oreos for 1 to 2 minutes, or until warmed through.
